Creatives not giving a damn about Cannes?

Just in time for Cannes:

For a strategy guy, it’s pretty easy to not get to swept up in the self-gratifying backslapping of some of the creative extravaganza at Cannes and now, with all the hoopla about traditional advertising effectiveness being crud, this story doesn’t help the top creatives themselves:

Last year’s hot shop FarFar creative losing his Cannes Lion at the beach because “we already won a bunch of Lions and I am sick of carrying it around”.

The fool regretted it later. Check out this funny video on some poor guy digging in the sand. However the reaction to it is fairly “web2.0”: post it everywhere and tell everyone how sorry you are. Makes all the bad PR go away, doesn’t it?
